Charles Fey

Charles Fey is the name the inventor of slot machine. He was a manufacturer and also operator of the first slot machine appeared. Birth of Charles Fey

This talented person was born in a tiny rural community named Vohringen of Bavaria. He was born 2nd, February, 1862 and that was the moment all slots history began. When he was 14 years old he went with his elder brother in Munich. He worked in a tool factory there. Working there bot h brothers became interested in how all the devices work and tried to know about that everything. But very soon Charles came back home.

Life before Marriage

When he was 15 years old, he went France. In France he took job of intercom tools manufacturer. Fey earned enough money due to trip through the English Channel, and for next 5 years he lived in London. In London he was labored as a naval tool maker. The money he earned there he spent on a trip to America.

In America he lived with the family of his uncle. But very soon his uncle decided to come back to Europe. So Fey left alone in America. And then he started his journey to California. He sailed for the San Francisco in 1885 and got different job by that time. After some period he’d got tuberculosis but he recovered it later. He got a job in a company named "California Electric Works Company" when he was only 25 years old.

Marriage Life of Fey

Fey married a local Californian girl named Marie Volkmar. Then he has a son and three daughters. However, in 1889 Fey started his with life as an American and his name changed Charles Fey to August Charles Fey. In 1894 Fey built his 1st slot machine. This machine was very analogous to the previous slot machine built by a well know slot machine operator Gustav Shultze which, however, had no success.

Inventions of Fey

At the sameyear August Charles Fey and his co-worker Theodore Holtz formed a new-fangled company to produce electrical equipment, telegraph, telephone etc. Their innovative business was in the same field of Shultze's slot developed company, and certainly manufactured components for Shultze's machines.

Fey went to Berkeley in 1895. He built his 2nd slot machine in Berkeley. The name of this machine was 4-11-44, it was stranded on policy, and a trendy lottery game also. The machine has 3 concentric numbered calls, and was put on a narrow and long cabinet.

This slot machine was located in a salon. It became so famous that he decided to dedicate his whole life by manufacturing slot machine. After then he built some other machines though they did not have such a popularity.
